Lines es una de mis canciones favoritas del disco. Me gusta porque es muy sencilla, los mismos cuatro acordes se repiten durante toda la canción, pero intentamos trabajarla para que hubiese una progresión, algo que nunca habíamos intentado exctamente así. Lo más dificil fué determinar cómo la batería iba ganando en intensidad y manteniendo el pulso de la canción sin acabar de explotar nunca ni caer en lo caótico.

La canción habla sobre el final de una primera relación. Hay varios guiños a Pavement, los que sois fans del grupo los pillaréis. Creo que la escribí cuando anunciaron que volverían a tocar juntos.
